Dr Mona Shabghareh

Sports Physician Specialist

Mona has been practicing in the field of sport and exercise medicine since she graduated from the Shiraz University of Medical Science (Iran) in 2009. She attained her fellowship in 2012 from Tehran University of Medical Science. After 7 years working as a sport and exercise medicine specialist in Iran, Mona moved to Australia in 2020. Just a few months later, she joined MP Sports Physicians to follow her passion which is optimising people’s heath and helping athletes to perform at their best. In 2023, Mona became a fellow of the Australasian College of Sports and Exercise Physicians.

During her career, Mona has worked with various ranges of athletes including recreational and professional soccer players, tennis players and volleyball players. Other than musculoskeletal injuries, Mona has had a lot of experience in the rehabilitation of chronic disease such as asthma, diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

  • Joint and soft tissue guided procedures (PRP- cortisone -visco-supplements)
  • Spine injuries and chronic low back and neck pain
  • Women and youth health in sport
  • Tennis, volleyball, soccer and dance
